Starting in the south, Om will run 5000 kilometres across India from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Om’s goal is to promote movement, break stigma, and lift children from leprosy-affected communities with education and dignity.

The Udayan group home has educated over 10,000 kids; Om wants to help educate 1000 more and all that costs is $100,000.

It all culminates around one core belief: we can use our bodies, our work, and our courage as tools for change.

THE CAUSE / STIGMA

The One India Run aims to break cycles of discrimination. Every step of this journey supports Udayan Kolkata's mission to provide education and care for children from leprosy-affected backgrounds.

Leprosy remains a hidden issue in India, with 100,954 new cases recorded in 2024 and over 800 colonies where families continue to face discrimination and exclusion.

About Udayan

Udayan Kolkata is a loving home for children from leprosy-impacted families. Through education, healthcare, and a nurturing environment, they help break the cycles of poverty and discrimination that have held back generations.

THE WHY / DISCONNECTION

I’m running from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, to start a movement that inspires action. I want to galvanise the community, that’s why I’m running for those who can’t.

This run is personal - I’m testing my discipline, dealing with pain, and finding purpose in the process. It’s about helping South Asians reconnect with something real; to choose collaboration over comparison and help those in need.

My goal is to raise $20 for every kilometre of the One India Run. To make a very real impact for disadvantaged youth and to help break the stigma around leprosy - a curable disease still buried in shame and ignorance.
